Boone’s CavePark is a 110 acre facility that was previously part of the State of North Carolina Parks System. It is a small park resting on 110 acres just north of MorrowMountainState, its affiliate park.  Located just off Interstate 85 and State Route 150, this park has never been intensely developed as a recreation site.  The park is strictly a day use facility nestled in a peaceful rural atmosphere mixed with large elegant country estates and beautiful green horse farms.  The park offers a secluded, quiet visit amid a rolling forest of mixed hardwoods.  It is a day use park offering limited facilities.  A picnic shelter, several picnic tables and a half-mile hiking trail.

  White-tailed deer, raccoon, fox, rabbit and quail can be encountered on site.  Some three dozen species of native wildflowers can be seen here including Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel and at 154 Feet, the state’s tallest Eastern Cottonwood tree.Click on link for more info and a video.

Lake Tom-A-Lex Park is owned and operated by Davidson County Governament and Cities of Lexington and Thomasville.  The park is located at 700 Yokeley Road, Lexington, North Carolina.   The park has undergone major renovations over the last year.Park hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. seven days a week.The park has four picnic shelters that can be reserved on weekdays and weekends for all types of events.  For information about shelter reservations contact the Davidson County Recreation and Parks Department at (336) 242-2285.  Shelters will not be reserved until somone in the party comes to the recreation offfice and fill-out a reservation form and pays for the shelter.  Shelters can be rented for $25.00 for a three hour period.
