  • Childress Winery

    Childress Vineyards are conviently located in Lexington right off of Hwy 52. Take a tour and visit the acres of vineyards. Click on the photo for a direct link to their website. 

  • Bob Timberlake Gallery

    Internationally renowned artist and designer Bob Timberlake calls Davidson County home. His Lexington gallery is located right off of Interstate 85. At the gallery you will find a large selection of his art and prints. His personally designed clothing and accessories can also be found.  Built in 1948, The Big Chair is a replica of a Duncan Phyfe style. It represents the history of chair building that was prominent for much of the 20th century in Thomasville. The chair is 30ft tall. Then Vice-President hopeful Lyndon Johnson stood on top of the chair while campaigning in 1960. It is listed in Ripley's Believe it or Not! It is still known as the world's largest "Big Chair".

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                     Denton Farm Park

The creation of the farm park began with a friendship between Brown Loflin and Howard Latham. They shared a love of flying and the park idea was hatched during a fly-in of fellow pilots at  Loflin's airfield at the present park location. Today the park host the annual Southeastern Old Threshers Reunion and several Blue Grass events each year. Exhibits include antique farm machinery, a working steam locomotive and cars, an old quarry steam shovel and numerous period buildings. Step back in time while visiting this "antibellum" home that has been restored to its original glory. "Tyro" displays both architectural and historical interest.  It is the finest example of Greek Revival Architecture in the area.  Each of the twelve rooms have some period furniture.   The house was built on a 1400 acre plantation, located on The Great Wagon Road that ran from Philadelphia to Augusta.  This was an excellent location for a tavern because it was mid-way between Old Salem and Salisbury.
